Disassociation in intimacy - a poem by Ria Bronte

You give my chest a kiss
It's baffling that you can't feel
How hollow it is

For my heart floats far too deep
Down inside
Like a lost willess ghost
Too tired to fight

Your fingers are hurting. I'm moaning a lot.
But speaking up is impolite
I don't feel I can tell you how to touch

I'm in awe of your body
As we 'make love'
But I can't admit to me or to you
That I just want it to stop

"Are you okay?"
"Absolutely", I eagerly nod
My smile bright, eyes soft

"I promise"
I say lightly
When you believe me
I am relieved

But my pussy is burning with pain
And inside I scream

Why can't I just suggest
You wet your hands,
Why can't I speak?
Why does this mess still happen inside of me?

It comes so naturally.
I don't even
Realize I'm lying
